- North's Triumph
Ugh where am I? Who am I? I can't remember anything I think I'm a Pokémon of some kind a Pikachu, right?
Can't open eyes drifting off
- Chapter one: awakening.
I slowly open my eyes. The area is dimly lit by the milky light, so reduced by the dense cloud cover in the sky. I experience the sensation of pain on my right arm, torso, and most notably my head. I tried to examine my injuries, but they were bandaged too well by a concerned bystander. I must have took too much damage and fainted. I am a pikachu. I noticed I am wearing something on my head. I sit up and examine it, a pair of blue goggles. A single blue band and burned, swirled lenses that are to textured to see though are all there is to them. They appear to be aviator goggles. I looked up at the sky. I was in a forest, well hidden in a crevice at the base of a mountain. I hear a female's voice. "Are you okay?" it asks.
"I'm not sure," I say.
"You'll be alright. Try not to move too much." She is a flareon. She wares a blue scarf around her neck. It's not a winter scarf, it's thin, meant simply as an accessory. "I'm Megumi," she says. "What's your name?"
"Um I can't remember," I tell her honestly. "I must have, what's it called?"
"Amnesia?" Megumi looked concerned, and, when I looked more carefully, I saw a hint of nostalgia in her eyes.
"Yeah, that's the word," I say. Megumi smiled. I didn't know why she did.
"I'm going to help you find out your past," she says. " and if that doesn't work out, don't worry. You can live by my side as long as you want. We might make great friends. But first things first, you took quite a beating by the looks of it. Maybe whoever attacked you thought you were dead. I thought you were dead, too." I winced. "So, get plenty of rest, and take it easy for awhile." I didn't know where a pokémon would have found goggles, a scarf, or bandages, but these were minor details. As I thought of what I would do when I recovered, I looked inside the band of my goggles. There, written in marker, was one word.
"North is written here," I say.
"You think that's your name?" Megumi asked.
"Indeed. When you found me unconscious, what was it like? Was I alone? Did you see my attacker?"
"I just found you there, alone in the forest." I tried to get up, but Megumi put her paw on me and laid me down. "Don't walk yet. Your injuries must heal a little." I knew she was right, and because I was still weak from injury, I drifted back to sleep. After all, I have a lot of time to find out who I am.
